Through DNA studies of the Winslow descendants of the Mayflower family John Winslow and Mary Chilton, it has been concluded the Timothy Winslow is not descended from John and Mary. However the relationship between Thomas b.1 Aug 1682-d.26 9mo (Nov) 1745, Perquimans, North Carolina, and John Winslow d.abt 1752, Perquimans, were brothers.

THE SECTION CONTAINING SAMUEL AND REBECCA (NICHOLSON) WINSLOW'S FAMILY IS NOT INDEXED - IT IS LOCATED AT THE END OF THIS PAGE

Correction to page 133, Vol. I, page 108 & 111 Vol. 2

Thomas A. WINSLOW’s middle name should be Alexander, not Allen. Thomas was the great grandfather of Ms. Stanley and the information was given to her by her father, Charles Ellis .

Elisabeth J. SPENCE, the mother of Mary Sabra (WHITE) WINSLOW, page 134, vol. I, was the daughter of James WILLIAMS and Sabra. Elisabeth married first Daniel SPENCE, then Robert Jones WHITE.

Vol. 2, page 111: This would make Elisabeth’s name Elisabeth J. (WILLIAMS) SPENCE WHITE, not Elisabeth J. WHITE SPENCE.

Micajah B. WINSLOW was buried in Tonganoxie, which is in Douglas Co., KS. This is also where Springfield MM is located, where he was probably a member. His brother Jonathan also went to Kansas about 1868 and was in Tonganoxie.

After Micajah died his wife, Elizabeth B. (DILLON) WINSLOW moved back to Indiana. She then married Edward DAUSE on 1 Aug 1896, and they lived in New Holland, Wabash Co., Ind. She died 27 Mar 1897 at the age of 59. A copy of her obiturary was found by Ms. Strakowski at the Historical Museum in Fairmount, Ind. It was dated Friday, 9 Apr 1897, she did not give me the name of the newspaper. The obituary stated that Elizabeth had ten children, seven sons, and three daughters.. This leaves 2 children unknown, besides the seven children listed in vol. 1 Ms. Strakowski’s mother knew one of the sons, Henry Ore WINSLOW. I wonder if this could be the Henry O. WINSLOW, d.3 Jun 1952, buried at the I. O.O. F. Cemetery in Marion, Ind., I imagine his obituary or death record could answer this question.

Page 113, Vol. I, 1-6-6-1-8-1-3

Ithamer R. WINSLOW, son of Micajah B. and Elizabeth B. WINSLOW d.24 Jan 1940 and is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Marshalltown, Iowa. His Wife Mary (DILLON) CAREY WINSLOW d.21 Apr 1912, I believe she is buried in the same cemetery as Ithamer. Mary D. C. WINSLOW was probably born in Grant Co., Ind.

Ithamer was a grocer, he owned WINSLOW’s Grocery and Meat Market on Nevada St. in Marshalltown, Iowa. He belonged to the Society of Friends, his 2nd wife was Fannie BASH.
